Interested in creating a custom, heirloom-quality engagement ring with me? Let’s make it happen!
Here is what that process looks like.
Let’s Chat
First things first, use the contact page to get the ball rolling. Once I receive your information, I will send you a custom jewelry questionnaire, so I can get a sense of what you are looking for. You don’t need to have all of the answers yet (metal type, gemstone, budget, etc.,) to fill this out, but the more you are sure of, the quicker we can get your jewelry ready.
Style
Once you fill out your custom jewelry questionnaire, please send any inspiration photos you have to brie@bdetke.com
Sketches and Stones
Many of my clients desire quite unique gemstones, whether it’s a salt and pepper diamond in a unique shape, or a particular shade of sapphire.
In most cases, I will first make up to three primary sketches for you. Once you decide on which you like best, I will start sourcing your gemstone.
Before I can reserve your gemstone, I require a 50% nonrefundable deposit. Please remember that gemstones are inherently rare, and can sell quite quickly. I cannot place holds on gemstones without a paid deposit. This deposit will go towards your final cost.
I will send you photos and videos (if applicable) of each gemstone we are looking at, along with any other pertinent information, so you can make your best decision.
Once your gem has been decided on, we will finalize your original sketch into a design centered around your unique gemstone. Once approved by you, I can begin creating your ring.
Creation
Creation of your custom jewelry takes about 8 to 10 weeks, depending on the piece. If you need your ring sooner than this timeline allows for, please contact me and let me know as soon as possible.
Once your jewelry is complete, I will send you photos/video for approval, along with your final invoice. All invoices are sent through a secure custom link. I accept most major credit/debit cards.
For those in the Portland Metro area, in person meetings can be arranged.
